A Farmhouse Kitchen
This kitchen started out with plain builder-grade everything.
Let's face it this kitchen was UGLY! But it had great bones.
So I put my design layers to work. Worked a little design magic and it turned out fantastic!
First, we installed new flooring and painted the walls. That made a huge difference. Then we installed a tray ceiling and added new lighting, then painted again. New appliances were next along with another paint color. The last step was to change out the countertops and installing a marble backsplash that went all the way to the 10' ceilings. We ended up removing two cabinets to add open shelving. LOVE!! We also added a trim detail and hardware to the cabinet doors and painted them with a hand-distressed finish. Framing out the windows really balanced out the space and finished the room off nicely.
What do you think?
This beautiful blue, wood countertops, and marble subway tiles were the inspiration.
Making sure everything works well before purchasing products.
I did a 2 color distressed finish after adding the trim to the doors and drawers.
This countertop was absolutely gorgeous!!
From builder grade to farmhouse great.
Calcutta Marble in 2x4 subway tile ran from countertop to ceiling.
